Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and a singer. Also, she was a co-star in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain. The most well-known of her works is the main character in Prince's 1984 Purple Rain film and lead vocalist in the girl group Apollonia 6 Apollonia was christened as an actress and singer by Prince. In the '80s, she became one among several other performers who gained from Prince. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as a model and actress. In the late 70s she was a guest on CHiPS. In 1984, she was the title of female lead in Prince's Purple Rain (during which time he changed her name) and replaced Vanity in the female duo Vanity 6 singing with them in the film with the title Apollonia 6. They scored a small success with the film Sex Shooter, but it was as Prince's duet partner in Take Me with You from the soundtrack that she made more of an impact on charts. Kotero and Prince had a fallout over her future career. The Apollonia6 duo split up, Kotero didn't keep her romance with Prince. In the wake of appearing in minor film (and reportedly refusing to participate on the Purple Rain film Under the Cherry Moon), she was a part of the 1985-86 evening drama Falcon Crest. Apollonia released her first album in 1988. However, it was a fairly pedestrian album of dance music and R&B which did not draw attention from the public. It quickly vanished from view. The actress continued acting (if somewhat under the radar) in the next decade. Small TV appearances small films and exercise videos kept her active. Apollonia made a record in English and Spanish entitled Stay with me in 1997. She returned to the school and received a degree in making films. After that, she started her own company and worked in children's TV. Apollonia wears multiple hats. Apollonia is an actress as well as model, and a former singer. As an actress she is well-known for her part in the 1984 film Purple Rain. In addition to Purple Rain, she's appeared in other TV and film projects like Black Magic Woman or The Divorce Ceremony. The American beauty was also featured in music video for Ray Parker Jr., Eddie Money and other artists. Kotero is an entrepreneur also and is the creator of Kotero Entertainment a multimedia entertainment company.
